Moccasins

Every pair of moccasins is a persons unique footprint in the world - literally. Before they're worn, their shape is versatile and ready to be molded. Over time, they adjust and shape themselves just for you.

Moccasins might be right for you if...

Your feet feel contricted in normal shoes

Manufactured soles might be thick and durable but they don't do your feet any favors. Because of their pre-molded shape, your feet are forced to conform and rest in a way that might not be natural.

Your feet are often cold and/or sweaty

The majority of manufactured shoes use synthetic materials, which prevents your skin from breathing properly. They also rarely have the option for alternative linings. With moccasins you get to tailor how warm, soft and durable you want them to be.

You feel unsteady on your feet

If you have weak ankles or poor balance (with the exception of medical conditions), moccasins can help you stay grounded with minimal intervention. Just like how toddlers should avoid soled shoes when learning to walk, sometimes allowing our feet to walk unassisted can help regain strength and confidence.

You always wear something on your feet in the house

Do you have cold tile, toddler-crumb floors or just hate being barefoot inside? Moccasins are a clean, year-round solution that keep your feet happy.

You just want cute, comfortable slippers

Nothing says "my feet are more comfy than yours" than a pair of sheep-lined, fox fur trimmed moosehide moccasins.

Some FAQ's

What is the starting price for moccasins?

Adult-size moccasins generally start at $400 CAD. This cost takes into consideration the labor of hand-sewing the moccasins themselves as well as lining and trim. It does not factor in beadwork or the material cost of your selected lining and trim.

What size do I order?

Moccasins should generally be ordered a half size smaller for an accurate long-term fit since the leather will stretch over time. Factors such as lining and whether or not you plan on wearing socks with your moccasins will also influence the fit. For accurate sizing, please take these factors into account during your consultation.

How long will it be before I get my moccasins?

Production time varies depending on the season. If you are planning on ordering a pair for a specific date (Christmas, birthdays, etc), please plan to order them at least three months in advance. For priority ordering during the holiday season, you can join the mailing list and be one of the first in queue.

How does payment work?

After you receive your quote, a 50% deposit will be required to place your order. An invoice will be provided for you to pay via secure checkout through this website (borealbeadwork.ca). The remaining balance as well as any duties/tariffs and/or shipping costs will be due upon completion before your order is shipped.

I'm from the US, do I have to pay tariffs?

Yes. At this time, American customers are required to pay tariffs. Due to the current trade climate, this may change at any time. Please take this into consideration during your consultation and how it may affect your final balance.
